Lawn & bees - how do they work together?

Marcel Lang

Dear lawn expert,

Almost everyone has heard it before: the problem with the perfect lawn... because one person's joy is another person's sorrow.

What we would like: a lush, well-kept and dense lawn.
What nature needs: flowers that feed the insects.

So how can we combine the two? At RasenExpert we have a clear opinion on this:

In addition to caring for the actual lawn, it is a very good idea to create small islands with native wildflowers, such as flowering sage or lavender.

These "islands" can be planted in sunny areas at the edge of the lawn as a strip along the property boundary, in an area that is not often walked on, or even in the middle of the lawn. Another advantage is that these areas do not require as much care, no artificial fertilizer, not as much water, and only need to be mown again after the flowers have finished blooming. This way we have a flowering area for our eyes and at the same time we are doing something for the environment by helping to feed the insects with our wildflower meadow. In addition to flowers with unfilled flowers, suitable native trees, hedges and shrubs with unfilled flowers also help in the garden.

Our small contribution to biodiversity in our gardens is that in the future we will include a free wildflower seed with every order, thus helping you to provide food and habitat for bees and other insects.

On species protection, diversity and of course a wonderful lawn,

your RasenExpert team
